Have a 49 VAC; one tire is a 11x28 and other is a 12x 28. Thinking of replacing them. Wondering if anyone knows if either of those sizes are available in a turf-type tire? Any help would be appreciated. (Have tire chains that fit the 12 X 28's better than the 11 x 28's.) Where available, prices, etc.

Well Kernel, your 11-28's were replaced with a 12.4-28, and the 12-28 replaced with a 13.6-28. I would go with the 12.4-28 and they are a little wider in the sidewall than an old 11-28, and the 13.6-28's can get a bit bouncy. Both sizes are available in a couple different turf styles and you can usually find them used at golf courses.

I have a 1943 Allis C with a 6ft belly mower and 9.5-24's on the back, and went and bought a used set from a golf course off of the front of a 4 wheel drive mower for less than $50.00. They change them when they start to tear up the grass, and mine had about half the tread left.
