I have a 2670 and as soon as you step on the clutch it kills the engine dead, it must be something with a valve body associated with the powershift, everything else works ok until you push the clutch then it kills the engine,ANY help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks!!!

Had a 1270 do that two years ago. It was one of the pistons in the valve body. Just take the caps off and get a pair of needle nose pliers and pull them out one at a time. Clean them up then move them in and out a bunch to make sure none are binding up. Should take care of your problem. Becareful not to drop anything that falls out.

My dad had a 970 that did that once when I was about 10 years old. I dont think we ever found out what was wrong. I think there is a switch associated with the powershift part that tells the engine to shut off if there is a big problem. I believe one of the detent balls in the valve body has fallen out of it's "spot" and is in the wrong place. In order to prevent damage to the rest of the trans, it signals the switch to shut the engine off when the clutch is depressed. Don't know if this helps but I'd like to know what happens if you get it fixed, so I'll be watching your post. ~Dan

well it"s running again, but can"t give you a 100%guaranteed answer! but they way i understand the c-1 vavle is effecting the clutch pedal disengagement, the tractor would either kill when in neutral range and sitting in the 1st power shift and as soon as you pushed in the clutch it would kill, or if in neutral rang and you manually shift the power shift into 2nd and then into 3rd once it hit 3rd it would kill it, so adjusted the c-1 out a turn or so and stilll the same responses, so feathered the clutch pedal some now and then and all of a sudden something made alittle noise, then with the clutch in it was still running, so shifted it through the pwershifts and still running even in 3rd, but maybe abit noisey but had never run it in 3rd powershift and neutral before either so don"t know how it sounded from before, but anyway adjusted the c-1 back to orriginal position and everything seems to be working, so back to field, also dropped the oild and put new filter on now, so guess time will tell, hope she hangs together!
