I just bought a motor for my DC pulling tractor and the first time I looked at I noticed it had a lp head and a big patch on the side. The purchase price of $200 was agreed on and I took it home a day later. I didn"t wait until i got it into the garage before taking the head off and there they were M&W high dome pistons! I"m thinking of haing the valves done and ringing the pistons and installing my Berry cam and pulling it in 06. What do you think it will have for HP? What"s the bore on the M&W kit? Thanks for your input. DCPULLER

Early D series had a 3 7/8 bore then they were increased to a 4" bore which are still available from Case. Most everything I have read was a increase bore to 4 1/16. I think I have a set of 4 1/16 pistons. The sleeves I took out were very thin. Never heard of a standard option of 4 1/4. Would think the sleeve would have to be paper thin.

I think the bore for the M&W domed overbore kits was 4 1/4 inches. I think I remember reading that the stock bore was 3 7/8 inches in the very early years and went to 4 1/16 inches in later years.
Good luck with that project motor, sounds like you'll be making quite a bit of power with that combo.

M&W HC kits were 4 1/16 over bore. Would like to know how they made those dome pistons work with the propane head. I didn't think there was enough clerance. I have a CC with M&W dome pistons HC gas head stock cam at 1100 rpm that dynos 52 horse. I would sell my CC if some one interested.
