Hello,
Have been checking out a mate's 15-27 Case recently (non runner - paddock condition). We are puzzled by a lever on the right hand side of the gearbox. It comes out of the gearbox just in front of where the clutch lever attaches. Linkages join it to a shaft running under the drawbar to the left side near the mudguard. Looks like another lever or pedal (which is missing) would attach?? Does anyone out there know any more as to what this is for please?!!
Thanks
Regards
Andrew

Is there a stub shaft sticking out between the shift quadrant and the steering gear box on the side of the transmission, or does the lever appear to control something in the transmission or is it used as a pivot point, my first thought would be a pto lever but as you have described it I think it may be a turning brake, was the tractor ever operated in a orchard or government work? can you post a picture? serial number early or late model? take a look on page 133 of Full Steam Ahead to see a PTO assembly, checked parts and operation books nothing listed as you described.

Thanks for the reply,
I'll have to wait at least until the weekend to be able to get a pic and numbers etc I thought it might be something common and that there would be most likely a lot more of these tractors over there than here. It moves loosely and would definitely bear against something inside the gearbox. Turning brake/gear brake possibly. Regards
Andrew
