I have some questions for you Case fellas. I am thinking of horse trading my 8n for a 411. What are the common problems with the 411. Any help is as always appreciated.

We have a 411B with the Case-O-Matic trany,,, and I love that lil tractor,, They dont have locking Differental on the Case-Os, they do have a single set of remotes, and an eagle hitch most likely,, or a 3pt,, and Im surprised how much hydrolic liftin power that lil 411 of ours has,, We pick up balage round bales with that lil girl quicker then any of our bigger case tractors to. and the arms will stay up for months with a load on them if you let the tractor sit.

Our 411 was probably the best deal we ever got,, found her in an add 10 years ago. A man in his 80s was sellin her,, he was the secound owner, and it only had 800 hrs on it when we first bought her, the ol man only used it to spread a small load of manure once a week back in the 50s,, and light snow plowing since then,, she now has 3200hrs on her and we did one valve job 5 years ago, and this past spring had the head rebuilt. When we bought her the Ol man threw in a Case 2 bottom plow, scraper blade, New tire chains, and a sickle bar mower, and even all of it together only cost us $800. Weve had quite a few people ask if we would sell her for around $3000,, But we arnt letin the lil case go. And I dare you to find a better tractor ever made thats better on gas.

Which 411 are you speaking of? The 411 round nose or the 411B with the B being the one with the headlights in the grill. Given the fact that you might be speaking of the B its still more tractor than the 8N. Not puting the 8N down but I spent many hours on the seat of one and the 411B has remotes and will pull 3 14's. Don't know what your uses are but for heavier duty the 411 is by far the better tractor. If you ever want to experience some thrills put a load of bales behind an 8N and start down a hill!!

The most common problem you will experience is staying on it so much because you can't believe how much more tractor you have now. Really there is no comparing the two after you get past the 4 tires and the steering wheel. An 8N is a good little tractor. The 411 is great.

Ok I get that, but does it have draft control, locking diff, or remotes? What should I look for as far as problematic things?
Thanks...

Well, if the tractor you are looking at is the first model 411, meaning it has the round nose, you most likely will never have a problem. If it's the later version, being the "B" model designator with the headlights in the grille, the only possible problem could be the "Case-o-matic" transmission, if so equiped. Even with that transmission, it is ten times the tractor an 8N ever dreamed of being. It's like a different generation of tractor! You won't be sorry if you decide to trade. And if you do not, please let me know where this 411 is so I can get my hands on it.
