Iam not a case man just wondering if cases 504 engines are good or not. Is there a difference in the older ones from the later models.

it's a good engine. Lots of torque down low. good throttle response. easy starting. My dad has a 2094 with a naturally aspirated one. Pulls just hard as 1586 with turbo and more rated hp. Sure surpised me.

Just curious, are you planning on a project with one or something else?

The 504 is the easiest starting, smoothest running engine Case ever made. A long time john deere man ran a 2670 that his son bought and said it"s the best he ever ran in his life.

One of the toughtest engines ever built by anyone. Seems like there was a difference in the very latest engines having a larger main bearing. Any of them are really tough engines though.
