All the manuals and LP sumplements I have seen say run on liquid unless the convertor is giving problems frosting over. Ensign R's will frost near the fuel inlet anyway.

Even have a Cockshutt 40 LP that doesn't even have a vapor withdrawel valve.

LP's will run on vapor until you tie into a long heavy pull and then the tank won't have the surface area to boil off enough fuel. Don't know how far 90% put you down the track but a tractor pull shouldn't give a long enough pull to give problems. One exception is if your tank was nearing empty which would reduce the surface area of the fuel.

Check the fuel filter,it's near the lp tank below the valves.

I took it all apart and cleaned it out there was no filter in it so I didn't put one in it could that be the problem. It has good rpm without a load could it be the govner.
thanks
Dave

Fellow I worked for years ago had an LP tractor. We ran it with both open if we were not pulling too hard (a bit more economical I think). We always ran "liquid only" when we were doing heavy pulling.

My Case LA manual says to run it on liquid.

I dont have an lp but my friend has a lot of them and I think he said you start them on vapor then open the liquid once there warm and close the vapor valve. Sounds good to me.

Dad always opened both valves on his SM-LPG when using it in the fields back in the '60's & '70's. Don't know if that was correct, but the old girl always pulled really well when doing field work. Wish I would have bought it at the sale when he quit farming. It was a factory LPG, which is not a real common tractor. Oh, well, didn't know then what I know now, and I didn't have old iron disease in my blood then either. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
