Anyone out there have a set of good canvases for an A-6 combine? I have a person who is supposed to be making a set but I haven't seen them yet and we were hoping to do a little wheat this season.

I have several sets in the rafters in the old tractor shed. I will check and see if they are any good any more. DK

Are these the same as a 76 combine?
I am in need of a good set. I tried to make some, but wasn't very happy with the canvas I found.
I'm in SE Wisconsin.

I wasn't aware of a model 76 Case although I know they made a 75 and a 77. If I remember right from back in the days when my Dad was using these machines, think the canvases are different too. I haven't had any luck finding any good NOS and have a gal making me some. She searched over the winter until she found canvas she liked. I understand the 72" stock is hard to come by. If you'd like, keep in touch and I'll let you know how they turn out. I don't think I'll get them in time for wheat but probably get to do some beans.

Thanks. Let me know how they turn out, and perhaps, where to get some of the canvas. It was my mistake. I keep getting the number confused. My dad had an IH 76. My case is a number 75 that needs canvases.

Thanks for your help. Am I remembering correctly when I put you in MN? I am in northeast SD.

I did beans with my pto A6 last year, also hope to do some wheat this year. If you are straight cutting could you tell me the correct length of the reel drive belt or maybe someone else could help. Would also like to find a late A6 sickle with the strap under the sections. I retrofitted an IH binder sickle into mine. My A6 is about as close to a 65 as you can get, must be one of the last A6's. Still have my old 400, want to sell it back to me? I miss it!! D- Kase I am 20 miles east of Brookings, do we know each other??

Just a length would be ok, a Case# would be a plus, I can order one from Gates if I know how long it is. Have you cheched with Spencer Canvas in Mitchell? They have the patterns for everything made after the stone age!! Probably not cheap, but patching old ones adds up also.

Still have the 400 although I haven't done much with it. Never enough time it seems. Had to go through the pump this past winter. I'll see if I can get some measurements for you or will part numbers work?

East Central SD. I am busy with 2nd cutting hay now, but I will try to find time to look. If you are going to be near Brookings I can show you where to dig. DK
