I need any information on a tractor for sale. It is a 731C sn# 8233019. It looks complete all tires holding air, rears are a little weather checked. The man said it was running when they parked it about a year ago. It doesnt have a battery in it so I couldnt try to start it. He said he would take 1500 for it, is this a fair price? I am located in NE Oklahoma. Thanks for any help.

If you can't run it to evaluate the engine and case-o-matic I wouldn't pay $1500 for it. You could spend twice that fixing the COM and/or engine.

I think it would be if the engine isn't stuck. Get a battery and try to turn it over. If it spins, you'll get it going without too much trouble. A good condition 730 is worth about $2500 so you have some room to rebuild the engine. Without it running, however, you don't have any idea about transmission, rear end, hydraulics, brakes, power steering, pto clutch, engine clutch, cooling, etc. If it doesn't start on cranking, $1000 would make more sense to me. A lot could be wrong with it.
