I know the basic "subtract 4" rule for the Case tractors in say the 1940's. My little V is serial number V4519520 which would make it a 1941 model right? After that though, a person can't tell where in the V series your tractor lies since it seems all models began with 45. Were the numbers just thrown out to the various models as they came off the lines or was there a system? Or maybe, is it possible that the letter (eg. V,S,D) was a critical factor? For example, maybe there was an S4519520 and a D4519520? Anyone out there set me straight on this? If they all continued from the same starting point, is there any reference which breaks things down further into specific models?

all V's were did not start with 45 they were built in 1940 41 and 42, numbers did run consectivatly so you could have a s and the next nymber could be a d the subrtact "4" method is good untill 53 than they were 80 for racine and 60 for rock island

Hey, DCTOM, would he have build sheets for my VAC and SC? I know you don't have them because I asked you once.
