Hi, I'm looking at a 1958 700 dual range, diesel engine. Owner say it's a 701D, is that acurate? Do you know what the hp rating is? I use to have 1961 430 which was a 431 with the diesel. Any opinions on this machine, it has a rebuilt engine and it looks clean, although all the tires are cracked. Has 1500 hours on the meter. Owner is askiing $5800. I need to find a 70 hp or greater for a general purpose on a horse stable. Thanks Dave

Too much for a 700 in my area. $2500 would be what I would think should max out a pretty nice one. If I'm going to spend $5000 to $6000 on a 70? HP chore tractor, I'd be looking for a Case 1490 or something like that. You could spend a little less and get an 870 or even less for an 830. All of those models make good stout chore tractors. My opinion.

Very high price for a 700, at least around this area. Nowhere near 70 HP. Not a bad tractor though.

Really high for my area with what litte information that was provided. It should have a 267 CI , 46 hp drawbar and 51 hp pto. Cost new around 5200.00. You should be able to find a 930 or 1030 or maybe a 70 serirs tractor for what there asking for the Case 700.
