My 580C [1979] suddenly stopped traveling in forward or reverse. It has a TC with forward- reverse lever on the left. I have never used the disconnect feature, but it has this option. It acts as if the electric disconnect is disengaged. The drive shaft between the torque and manuel transmission is not turning. Any help as to trouble shooting will be appreciated. Thanks, Jim Mounts

Unplug the wire to the solinoid on the side of the shuttle. If it goes back to work then one of the dixconect switches has shorted out.

I am not sure about the C model, but my 580CK had the same problem a few days ago. The problem turned out to be a sheared woodruff key on the Shuttle shift pump. I was able to determine this by checking the oil flow coming from the pump to the Oil filter & Cooler. There should be over 200 PSI at 9 gallons per minute. But mine had about 1 quart per minute and I could stop the flow with my thumb. Then I turned off the engine and blew compressed air into the same port and I could hear the pump spin backwards. When I pulled the pump I found the sheared key on the pump gear. I have heard of others having similar problems but the screen on the pick-up tube for the pump was clogged causing sluggish or no movement.
