I'm looking at a $800.00 800 COM gas. Ugly, rusted, 1 bad rim. As I understand it, the tractor should start in COM and then you can shift to direct drive. This one seems to work either way, in direct or COM. COM gauge reads past the green, so I figure filters need service. When I shifted from direct to COM it seemed to work because the tractor stopped as I was in too high a gear for the RPM's. When I moved the lever back to direct it took right off. Does this sound right?

put tractor in 8th gear. hOLD brakes an as you give full throttle engine shouldrev up an act like it is under fullload. release brakes an you should gain speed rapidly. IF com is operating you might not be able to hold tractor from moving
