411 questions....

Hello all,

I'm looking at a 411 #8106186. Eagle hitch, PTO, hydraulics. Narrow front. Dual-Range. Tires in good shape. Tin work straight with only some surface rust on top. Missing Case emblem on nose. Clam shell fenders. After market lights on front, original lights near dask. Tractor started right up. Never saw any smoke after running it for 15 minutes. Dealer claims previous owner had it rebuilt no more than 10 hours ago. Dealer asking $1300.00.

Now for the questions...
-What is the horsepower rating for this tractor? -What year is the tractor?
-What do you think of the dealers asking price? Looking to maybe pull a rotory mower with it and eventually restore it, or at least to the point of having a nice looking, working tractor.

Any comments?

Thanks for time!

Sounds like a good deal to me, the 400's was one of, by many considered the best, tractor Case built. I would grab it myself without any hasseling, heck you can't buy a good lawn mower for that kind of money. Good tires, sheet metal and overhaul what do you want. If you would like to dress up that hood a little with an emblem I have those....Roger

Sounds like a good deal if engine was rebuilt like he said. Not too fond of the NFE but with that eagle hitch, it would make a good mowing maching on relatively flat ground. $1k would be a nice deal.

Hey Engineer...sounds like a fair deal to me. Just remember that if the dealer is asking $1300, you could easily offer $1000 (or less) to start with! That tractor is about 50 horsepower and was built from 1955-57.
