Anybody know the trick to engaging the end of the speedometer drive cable into the drive in the transmission case? I'm working on a 1960 730 Case-O-Matic and replaced the drive cable ass'y. The problem I've run on to is that I can't seem to fish around the 8" of cable that hang out of the casing into anything that will drive the speedometer when I am installing it into the gearcase.

There is a small steel tube from top of trans case that should lead cable were it should be. You will seeend of it in conection (cable conection) on transmision cover. Donot pull it out idf it is still there like i did!!! you will have to removecover to get it back in place.

I can't help you with your problem but maybe you can help me. I have an 830 & need to replace the speedometer drive. What did you have to do to get to the drive gear? Case IH did not have a replacement but I was going to check aftermarket or used parts. It looks like a big job to get to it. The tach drive came out the top without going inside.
