Have a Case 580B CK which was abused when I got it. Have spent a bundle on parts; I want the thing to work properly but dislike paying book prices for parts. Presently need to get a rebuild kit for the backhoe frame to swing tower upper and lower pins; both the bushing hole on the upper frame arm and the swing frame holes are worn by about 0.050" to as much as 0.075" along the axis. I also need a similar kit for the swing tower to boom connections. Have access to a metal lathe and heat treat furnace but do not know the steel to be used. Can anyone advise the steel type speced for bushings and pins? Also,
can anyone advise a good source for aftermarket mailorder parts for this tractor?

Aftermarket pins & bushings are available as well as other parts from EPS. Check the link below for backhoe pins & bushings.

I'm not an expert but I used 4140 on my 530. I think pins are around 55 rockwell. I think pins should less hard than bushings. Pins are easier to change than bushings? I'd try to weld & machine the casting and use standard bushing sizes if possible. I think I used hot rolled 4140 because it was shinny when I bought it? Its been a few years.
Hope thats a help, Dennis.....
