Looks like an automobile axle to me. I looks like it even has brake drums on it.

32-35 Ford or 41-48 Ford car axle, can't tell if has hydrolic or mechanical brakes, wire wheel is 32-35 Ford, steel wheel 41-48 Ford, all the wheels fit on either axle except 36-39 Ford is the large hub instead of the small one pictured.

1936 ford maybe. If I could see the shocks or the brakes better, I could tell. 36 had worthless mechanical brakes. Wheels don't match.

I just saw this thing on ebay yesterday and that axle looked odd to me too. The axle looks too old (Model A front axle or something?) to even have brakes on it, but they do look like drums!
