Yes,Ed and Joe you are not alone out there. On my machine the swing bushings for the hoe to tractor need replaced. The lower bushing came out in 2 pieces. The frame hole is oblong maybe .200 what can i do to bore this hole oversized? I do not want to disassemble and visit a machine shop. The upper bushing is intact but oversized maybe .100. How is the best way to remove bushing? Will heat weaken anything?

Thanks Dan

Dan, I don't have a 310B with the Case backhoe, rather a 311B with an Arps 3. backhoe. My 310 is a roundnose, no hoe.

If the swing frame on the Case is like my Arps, I think you might want to reconsider the machine shop repair.

If you do manage to drill the bores round and have bushings fabricated to fit, you will still have to line bore the top/bottom bushings for the swing shaft(pin).

That's just my opinion, have no real expertise in this repair. I think George md could provide some expert advice.

Joe

Dan, I haven't had to do that yet thankfully. The prev owner ran the machine shop at a local paper mill so he replaced a lot of stuff with machine tool steel! ;-)

Depending on how much material you needed to take out, I would probably either use a torch and then hand file or try to find one of those carbide hole enlarging drill bits ($$ though). Post a pic showing the bushing, not sure exactly which one you are talking about (mine may be lose too, have only had it a month or so!). Post a pic of your machine on the tractor photos link on the left when you get a chance too. I am looking at other 310B's trying to decide which color sheme to use.
