I could use a couple of Bendix starter springs for a DC starters. They are that big flat spring that retracts the pinion when the power to the starter is cut. Got any idea where I could find some?

Don L has the direct drive "bendix" drives that eliminate the spring. My DC"s have to start every day in the winter here in the great white north of South Dakota to do chores. 12 volt destroys the springs, and 12 volt is the ONLY way that they consistantly start at 30 degrees below zero. (Don"t bother posting any crap about how your tractor starts so good on 6 volts. I know better.) I have had the direct drives on my chore tractors for 4 years and they work great!

There's an alternate type part that replaces the big flat spring for the starter drive. I have one in my DC4 on 12v and it is outlasting the broken and the twisted flat springs that I replaced.
If you can't get either at a good starter rebuilder or parts house with your starter make and number, mail me. I got mine from a customer with an alt/starter shop.
