I am trying to resurrect a 1942 SC. Can anyone help me locate sleeves and/or pistons for this tractor? I have been able to locate everything else I need except these. Also, does anyone know if it is possible to put the later 3 5/8 pistons in an earlier engine? The size really doesn't matter, I just thought this might give me another option to look for. Thanks. BT

Case/IH still has the 3-5/8" pistons and sleeves. They will work in your tractor. That is the only size available from Case/IH. The last price I got on the sleeves was $74 each. You might want to also check with John Saeli ([email protected]) 315-585-9826.

Here's an idea you might want to try. If you already have 3 1/2" sleeves, take the block to a machine shop and bore out the old sleeves to 3 5/8" while in the block. Do not remove them. Put in new pistons and rings. Case IH aluminum 3 5/8" are $133 each and wrist pin may be extra. Don Livingston may have a better deal. The boring job where I live is $12 a hole.
