Gentlemen, what is the best way to get the smell of gasoline off my hands? I use hand cleaner and then soap to clean off the gas, but then I have the smell for a while. Since I'm working on my DC-3, I thought I'd ask in this group!

I have found that scrubbing with a powdered hand soap works well. One called Boraxo works the best for me. FastOrange and GoJo are more of a liquid; they haven't worked as well.

Try using mayonnaise for hand cleaner. I have been using it for years, gets grease ,paint and most other chemicals off hands. Also keeps the hands from drying out and cracking. If Mayo don't remove the gas smell rinse your hand with vinegar, then wash with soap..HTH...Keith

Wear nitrile gloves. They will keep the grease and gas smell off your hands. They are about $10 per 100.

When my hands stop smelling like oil/gas, I know it's time I get out in the shop and have some more fun! Glenn F.
