Sorry to be so stupid about this but here goes. It's just about planting time again here in Southern Indiana. How do I know? These plants have come up again. I always called them "mustard" plants -- can someone tell me what they are and why do they only (or at least it seems)grow in corn fields?

Thanks RBF

So when you call it mustard, is it the stuff that is served with hamburgers or just a name given because of the color? Also I see that it could be something called "yellow jacket".

I don't mean to be dumb here, but this has bugged me for a long time..... guess a good dosing of RoundUp might take care of it too!

Thanks for all the input!
David

We use to kill them real easy. First, turn the ground over with a breaking plow. Next, run a disc over it two times, maybe three and plant your crop. Now spend the rest of your summer cultivating the crop (not more than once per week) and presto - no more weeds!:^)
