I have just acquired a model SC. I was able to buy it for scrap price and was wondering about what the approximate weight of it would be. It has a 10 inch tree that has grown around the left brake pedal and up through the steering wheel. Remarkably enough, it is not stuck and in very good restorable condition.

4200 lbs. If you have fluid in the rear tires, maybe more. But if you have a 10" tree growing up through the steering wheel I am guessing the tires would have rotted and the fluid escaped long ago. You may not be able to move it easily because the brakes could be stuck if it has been sitting that long. If that is the case, let me know how difficult it is to get them unstuck as I have one with the brakes stuck. Am to far away to work on it though. Best wishes!

Rgorange: To unstick the brakes on a SC, remove the 4 large nuts and lock washers and the rod from the pedal. You can then pull the outer cover off which may unstick the brakes. If still stuck, tap gently all around the disk with a small hammer. That has done the trick for me every time. It may take a few minutes, but they will crack loose. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the info. You want to hear the best part? I was able to air up both rear tires even though the valve stems were questionable. I hooked another tractor to it after cutting a few trees and cutting off the one in the tractor. One little grunt later and it came right out of its resting place for many years. I replaced the front wheels , and unhooked the steering arm so I could steer it. It is now next to my own shed. I read about that stuff all the time, but it never happens to me. By the way, there was no fluid in the tires.
