I am looking at a case 480B for my Dad but can't find any info. It's an industrial tractor & they say it was built between 1976 & 1981 and is 52 HP. The only listing I found was earlier buid dates & 38 HP. Serila Number S/N# B4800014B016494 any help is appreciated don't want to buy something underpowered.

We have a 480B gas> It is a outstanding loader tractor but in the gas version it is underpowered. I would lean toward a 580.

If the 480B has a 188 diesel, it's the same motor as found in the 580B. The only difference will be the fuel injection pump settings. Remove the diesel injection pump following removal/installation instructions. Any diesel pump injection service can set the 480 pump to the 580 pump specs. to get 52 HP.
