Air lock up is possible, bad idea to just run the thing and keep moving the levers, the pump is still runing dry. Find the bleeder in the hydraulic section of the manual, start the tractor and at idle crack the bledder open slightly to relieve pressure in the system allowing the unprimed pump to begin to push fluid through with the little to no resistance. This happened on my DB 885 when i forgot to lower the arms when changing fluid/filter. If this doesnt do it, you may have installed something incorrectly?? Live drive is just DB way of saying 2 stage clucth. (live power)

I have a DB 990. Similar but not identical.
So if you replaced the hydraulic pump (expensive!), you must have drained the gearbox of oil. before you replaced the pump did the lift arms drop OK?

Is the catch on the left hitch arm that holds it in the raised position off (in the outer position)?

Why did you replace the pump in the first place? What were the symptoms that made you replace the pump?

replaced it because we thought that was what it needed and it was worn some. but no the arms would raise up without a disk but not with one and it was not working right then . also need to know what gear oil it requires the weight of it. and where can i get the original book for it like operators books. and service book the serial is 880A 537816 on the frame beside and down on the frame it is stamped in the frame behind hood just incase some of you don't know this.Sitting in the seat it would be on the right side. anything would help...thanks all that does post to this in advance. I really don't think its air lockup .at the moment it will not raise or lower the bars and the fluid is full.Maybe you didn't understand me.
Live drive is when the transmission and hydralics are open together and run on the same fluid. Also there is not any hoses going to it only ajustments and such.
I need someone who has a david brown (the same type to help me if possible.
