Spring must defently must be here. Sure could use some rain now that the oats is planted. The antique club trys to plant some oats every year for the annual threshing bee. Nice thing about it I got to get out and work (ok more like playing) with the ole Case 702B I bought last year. Will try posting pictures again.

Hey Caseman where are you located? My Uncle used to say plant oats when the service berry blooms, corn when the dogwood blooms. Service berry came out end of last week and i saw the first dogwood opening yesterday. Spring has sprung, looks like you are right on schedule.

Phil,
I am in western SD, about 32 miles from the WY border. We try to plant so it will be ready for harvest when we have our annual Threshing Bee 3rd weekend of August. Now if we could just get some rain. We already got a forest fire going in the hills that started yesterday. Could be a very long fire season here.

That is a press drill. Poular in the Dakotas. I had a Case 12' with disc openers in MN. I don't think that is a Case, unless it is newer than mine. I would guess John Deere

Hey Ted: Deere??!!! No wonder why he wouldn't answer. What is the purpose of a "Press Drill"?

John,

The press drills help out in drier climates than you "Easterners" are accustomed to. The press wheel rolls over the row just as the press wheels on your planters do. They are little narrow jobbers with one behind each disk or hoe row opener.

By the way, The guy in Ohio didn't have the vac eagle hitch parts i needed. Got any other leads on parts. Funny story, my daughter was bidding on a set on ebay and they went to 100 dollars and i told her to stop bidding. Less than a minute after auction closed guy from Ohio called to say when he pulled the parts up out of the grass they were broke up to bad and he would have to send my money back to me. Still looking for parts.

Thanks Wheat Straw
