One of my workers put gasoline in my Case 685, he tried starting it four or five times. I drained the tank and replaced the filters and now I can"t get any fuel into the engine. Do i need to bleed the whole fuel system? If so, how do I do it? Any help would be welcomed thanks. Jim

two quick stories Cat d8 someone put gas in the diesel tank they ran it and put a rod through the side.

vw diesel I found myself putting regular in the little diesel...distressed I called the vw dealership and they recommended filling it the rest of the way with diesel and it would be fine.

I would also recommend getting out as much of the gas as possible...if it won't prime up I wonder if the gas is somehow stuck in the pump and not heavy enough to be pulled through...just a dumb thought good luck

Bleed it any place you can, starting from the tank end, of course. I have a gas/diesel story for you that won't help you at all, but you might get a chuckle out of it. I did. My neighbor's teen-age daughter once filled her diesel Volkswagen Golf fuel tank with gas and drove it home (20 miles), with the engine coughing and bucking and banging all the way. By some miracle she made it home. We drained all the fuel we could and I traded him ten gallons of my diesel fuel for his 10 gallons of gas/diesel mix. I dumped the gas/diesel mix into the tank of my CASE 1941 LA power unit that I plane lumber with and it burned it just fine. She drove that VW Golf for several months and it didn't seem to affect it. I don't know about VW's, but those old LA's are pretty tough! Good luck with it.

If it were me,I'd disconnect the fuel line at the injector pump and apply air pressure to tank while turning engine over. once you have fuel at inj. pump, hook fuel line back up,then bleed at each injector. If it has a manual pump on the fuel pump, then you may want to try that instead of air pressure.Good luck!
