Would higher compression affect the quality of spark the mag on my SC can put out? The Tractor is 6 volt. What would it take to put an 8 volt battery on it. I realize lights would have to be changed, but what would I have to do to the Gen. to get it to charge a 8 volt Battery?

Hey DRD: It would only be a sick mag, not to fire any SC, regardless of compression. I have yet to see an SC, with proper cables, & Quality battery, not spin on 6V. Nothing would be changed converting to 8V, but bulb life & Gen. life will be shortened. Make sure you have at least 1 Guage cable, (I use 2/0). If it's weathered, replace it. Install at least a 625CCA @ O degrees F, 6V battery & you should be good to go.
