I JUST PURCHASED A 900 AND I AM TRYING TO GET IT SET UP, I REALLY DONT WANT TO PAY THE BIG $$$ FOR A ORIGINAL, SO WHAT KIND OF TACH WILL REPLACE THE ORIGINAL? MY CASE DEALER SAID ANY 1 TO 1,BUT MY OLD TRACTOR SUPPLY SAID IT WAS GEARED SPECIFIC TO THE 900 AND THEY DIDN'T EVER MAKE A REPLACEMENT. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

When they said it was geared specific they probably were thinking of the hour meter that is geared to read engine hours at rated RPM. i.e. if you put a tach on that was for a tractor that was rated at 2100 rpms the hour meter wouldn't add up as fast on your 900 at 1500 rpms. But the Rpm reading should be correct. If you get the tach from John S. It will fit right into the gauge cluster in your 900 dash. Just checked the price for a tach for our 870 from case dealer and it was alot more than $90 (think we got the old one fixed up though).

Hey Caseguy: How 'bout a NOS Tach for $90.00? I have one. CASE used the same Tach for several different models.
