Howdy again and one more question. (For today)
My brother has a 1950 Case model D.O. that he wants to sell. It runs but needs work. Gas tank is rusty inside. Tires are rotted. Like I say, it will run and about two months ago, we ran it for about three hours pulling a disc and it ran well. What would this tractor be worth. It would need to be painted as well to look good. He is asking $4,500 dollars for it but I think this is waaaaa y too much.

I think there was a post about this a few months ago.

Last August I paid $1100 for a 1949 DO in running condition. The sheet metal was a little rough and several parts were missing. It needed a bunch of work, but it did have good tires. I have invested another $1400 over the winter months, and I now have a fully functional tractor. Still not painted though.

I think $4500 is quite high. New rear tires can cost over $1000 for the set.

I can probably send you some pictures of mine if you are interested.

Very interested! My Dad still has two D.O.'s. He gave the third one to my brother some years back. Now he wants to sell it. I talked to him last week about buying it and when he told me $4,500 I about fell out! But I don't expect him to lower his price simply because I'm his brother. Hey, if he can get it, more power to him.
