Being relatively new to the antique tractor scene I have seen some references to "Old Abe's News", but I can't seem to find it. Are there any CASE monthly publications in circulation anymore and how do I find them. I am picking up my first antique in a week from today. In case you couldn't guess it's a 53DC. I was hoping to find some kind of magaizine to subscribe to as well. Thanks.

Old Abes news is now defunct, and the heritage eagle is the only publication for case enthusiasts at this time. Their website is www.caseheritage.org.

Old Abe's News does have a new Editor. I am sure you will continue to enjoy the publication. There will be a few changes, but they will all be for the good of the magazine and for the enjoyment of the subscribers.

Just curious - is the new editor someone previously affiliated with the organization or did they go outside in their search? I'm sure it will be announced with the next issue but just wondering. Thx.

I am the new Editor of Old Abe's News. As for pitching a long line about how much I know, or how much literature I have collected/studied over the years, I won't do that. I prefer to let the up-coming issues of Old Abe's News let you decide. I will say that, I am available to the subscribers, on and off line, and I will not re-write any submitted articles, to make them look like mine. I am currently the Editor of another antique tractor magazine, which is in no way, affiliated with Old Abe's News. Old Abe's News is owned and operated by JICCA and I am merely a hired Editor to make the publication, what the subscribers/members want it to be. I also will not sling mud, or state any unwarranted opinions of past issues. I will be doing some very interesting and helpful articles, none copied from service manuals, other publications, or old literature. I am also open to any suggestions on what the members prefer to see in future issues. A few people on this board receive my publication and a few know me pretty well, on and off line. You are welcome to ask there opinion as to whether I can handle the job and am qualified representing Old Abe's News and Case tractors in general. As for your question, No I was not affiliated with Old Abe's News or JICCA in the past, but have been affiliated with Case tractors and Case collecting for many years. I will also be at the Wapakoneta, Ohio winter/spring May 27, 28, and 29 conference and hope to see and meet many members there. Jonathan

I am glad there is someone stepping up to plate and running with it. I wish you the very best of luck. You said "and I will not re-write any submitted articles, to make them look like mine." please dont rewrite submitted articles to the point they dont make any since at all or make the original author look like a complete idiot. This use to be done to me. I am planning on joining the JICCA again now, its been 10 years!

Charlie, I can guarantee that will not happen. I have been told the same thing many times lately. One can only assume why! I should have made my point more clearly. I plan to proofread submitted articles, make only necessary changes, return a copy to the submitter for final approval, then it will be published.

Old Abe's News is not defunct. They are attempting to find a new editor/published. A new
issue just came out this past week and was edited by Ken Bredemeier, President of JICCA.

Sorry about that, haven"t received one yet, and noticed the jicca website hadn"t been updated. Are they using the old abe name?
