430 three point hitch problem

Howdy again. Just found this forum and I've got a ton of questions. I have a 430 Case, gasoline motor, circa 1965. It has a three point hitch. Was using it not long ago to plow middles and it got to the point where the plow wouldn't come up when I lifted the three point hitch. I checked the fluid and sure enough, it wouldn't even touch the stick. I added fluid and all was well for about an hour. Then it wouldn't work again. Checked the fluid and low again. I added more fluid, (I thought it was leaking somewhere). Worked well for about twenty minutes and then suddenly, fluid started running out of the vent pipe up under the seat. Could someone tell me the set up of these three point hitches? Are there two sections to this system so that now one is over filled and the other is empty. Is there a passage or line that might have become clogged? A filter anywhere in the lines. Any and all help would really help me understand what's happening here. Thanks a million in advance.
Glenn

Another way the fluid can be leaking from the torque tube, that's where the hand clutch and hydraulic fluid is, is around the seal that the pto shaft runs through, that was 10-30 oil, drain the rear transmision, 90Woil,after draining put some oil in the torque tube; run the motor and see if it starts draining into and out the transmission. An IT manual shows you how to replace that seal.. Mine had some damage to the PTO shaft that I had to repair in the lathe.

Be a good idea to drain down the oil level in the transmission before using the hitch again. When you lift the draft arms, the oil and air under the piston is forced back into the transmission.

The vent is designed to pass air and may not be adequate to relieve the oil/air pressure in an overfilled transmission. Might blow your drive shaft or brake shaft seals.

it sounds like the piston seal is bad and letting the fluid leak into the rearend.you will have to remove lift piston housing under the seat and replace the seal on the piston .when this seal goes bad the fluid will leak ito the rearend .the 470 and 570 has a return line if the piston leaks the fluid will go back to the lift compartment

Before you go ripping into anything do a simple test. Put a load on the arms and raise it up and park it over night. If it's down in the morning then you know the cylinder is leaking . And if it's still up you can bet the PTO shaft seal is leaking. I have a 630 and a 300 and both of them have leaked for 30+ years around PTO seal. I just drain down the tranny and put it back in the hydraulic.

I have a 530 and a 430 they both leak around the pto seal also it is a common problem but they have never filled up the rearend in 1hour and 20min like he said .that is a good test to put a load on the lift drain the rearend leave the drain plug out raise the lift look for fluid to drain if the piston seal is bad it will leak down and the fluid will come out the drain
