D, 1950, turing carb

1950 D, idle very poorly. Much blue back fireing. Some backfire when at medium to full throttle. Runs much better off idle. Checked plugs, new pro rebuilt mag. Clean fuel, kit in carb, checked all passages for dirt.

What might be a good starting point for idle screww and main jet?

Any other tips?

I agree, it sounds like it could be a little out of time. Did you have it running before you rebuilt the carb? Does the magneto spark appear to be strong? Is the carburetor flooding?

sounds like timeing, move mag in the slots shuld help
