I need help. I was working with my tractor and hit a stump that turned the wheels completely sideways. I found that the cast housing where the steering wheel shaft meets the main body of the tractor has split open around the bolts. Can anyone help me find a new one? I don"t even know where to start. Thanks in Advance

on it. Jim McVay Phone # 863-673-0363.

The early bare cast housing itself should be fairly easy to locate. If you have the non adjustable wide front which an "orchard" should have, the gears may be a bit tougher as you need a set that is reverse action as compared to the more common VAC. A VA and VAI should use the same gears.

Just a thought. Jerry

FIY - Orchards have NON-adjustable wide fronts.

So, do are you referring to the cylindrical casting that the steering shaft goes downwards through? This unit bolts to the main chassis of the tractor? The throttle lever is mounted on this part as well? I have one here if that's what you are talking about. I have removed my email hide feature so just hit on my name link.

The cylindrical casting bolts to tho part which in turn bolts to the torque tube. The steering arm sicks out the left side. The battery box sits right above it. Does that make sense? Ihave pictures.

That makes sense, what is it that you need, the cylindrical stem casting (that the shaft goes through) or the part to which that stem bolts (and has the steering arm sticking out of it)? You can email me directly at:
