Does anyone know where the Hydraulic Oil Filter is on a Case 310 Utility Tractor? If you have a picture or instructions for cleaning/changing it, I would appreciate it.
I just bought this tractor and the hydraulics are "spotty". The lines to the power steering (it is plumbed to use the tractor's hydraulics instead of its own pump) were old and plugged and I am thinking that the filter is probably full of junk.

Are you sure that the power steering is plumbed into the tractor's hydraulic? Factory power steering systems were separate from the tractor's hydraulics and were powered by a pump mounted near the front of the tractor.

Also, if you have a loader or backhoe on this tractor, they also have a separate hydraulic system. That filter is either mounted near the controls for the loader or mounted near the pump in the front of the tractor. I can provide the part numbers for these filters if you need them.

FYI, the filter noted in Joe's post is still available from CaseIH.

We've had a 310B (the flat nose type) for years and "it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!"

The hyd filter element is located aft of the main control valve(s) under the battery tray. Access from the left side of tractor at the bottom of the sheet metal.

Filter cover is just inboard of hand throttle linkage bellcrank, about 3.5" sq with rounded corners on the top, 4 bolts. Casting nr on the cover is G1114 with the eagle logo horizontal to the left (forward).

Original element is edge wound cleanable type Case p/n G13113. A suitable substitue for the element is noncleanable paper type element Wix 51518 (Napa 1518 is probably the same).

The lower left cover bolt hole will probably be drilled all the way into the oil cavity, use some sealer on the thread upon reassembly.
