Front Tire Size 310B

Just noticed someone was asking about tire size for another tractor and it reminded me that I have a questions of my own regarding my 310B. It has the loader, but no backhoe, only the counterweight. The original tire on the tractor is a 7.50 x 16. The parts books all seem to list the correct size as 6.00 x 16. Does anyone know if they changed the size for those tractors with loaders?

I need to get a replacement rim for one of the wheels and haven't had any luck obtaining one. Any advice, thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

I think 600-16 is pretty much the norm for the 300 series. I have a 311B with that size & 3 rib. My 310 has 78-16 truck tires and rims on the front. Doesn't cut up the lawn & dirt roads as much but lacks the sideway traction. Check the link. Ed is good, knows his business, prices about on par with others.

Part of what has brought this all to a head is that previously a truck tire & rim was put on the tractor to replace a damaged rim. Because there is not much clearance between the tire and the steering arms, the tire was mounted "inside out." as you might imagine, over time, the spindle weakened from the additional pressure and finally snapped last summer. I held Dad to a promise that if I fixed the spindle, he had to get the proper rim and tire on the tractor to prevent future problems.

Yup, you are right on with that statement. The left spindle has been broken and rewelded on mine. I think the power steering cylinder adds quite a lot of stress on that left side also.

I have the light duty spindles and Case only has the right side spindle left. You can still buy both sides of the heavy duty spindles.

The welder did an excellent job & I don't really horse the loader or the tractor so I am going to leave it alone for now.
