My Case 441 (gas) has suffered a loss of engine power over the winter. It was functioning ok when I plowed snow in January. However this spring it will start right up but the engine lacks power. It can barely pull itself up a small incline. It will also misfire under any engine load. No water in the oil or excessive smoke from the exhaust. Could this be a timing or other problem with the distributor (such as point, etc.)

Anyone with advise on this problem please let me know what you think.

Yup, sounds like your points have closed up. Check the gap and if they have make sure the lobes are clean and smooth. Cheap points witha plastic lobe rider wear down fast if there is any rust. Look for points with phnolic(sp) lobe rider, and don;t forget a dab of grease.

You might also check for water in the carburetor and fuel tank.
