Drive problem on 69 Case

I just purchased a 1969 Case Construction King loader/backhoe.
I didnt play with it much, but it seemed to run just fine when it got delivered.
I drove it around the yard and scooped dirt with it. The drive train had plenty of power to move right along and push deep into a pile of dirt, stopping only because the tires began to loose traction and spin.
I parked it that night and didnt touch it for the last two weeks. Today I started it up and tried to move forward. It would barley move the tires in any of the lower gears. If I put it in the higher gears I am able to move but it goes slow and the tires will stop moving if it is challenged to climb at all. It is affected in both forward and reverse gears. The engine never bogs-down. It almost seems like the clutch is slipping (If it has one). I have to crank the RPMs to get this thing to move at all.
I am mechanically inclined but not too knowledgeable with tractor drive-trains. The brake pedals are returning to their full up-right positions but not sure if they are out of adjustment and providing slippage (find it hard to believe that sitting for two weeks would cause a problem unless snow or ice is preventing the clutch/brakes from being engaged.

I sure would appreciate any insight on how the drive train works, if there is a clutch, how the brake system works and any ideas as to what the problem might be.

Thank you in advance,

Brad
