Hello,
I am working on a 580k Backhoe/Loader. I picked up halfway throught the job, which makes things 10 times harder. They had water in the oil, so took off the head and sent it off. Had it welded and it came back. I proceeded to reinstall it. started up beatifully and sounded great. I checked the oil, WHITE!!! I guessed maybee there was some water left over from the engine not being covered well while being fixed, so I changed oil and started again. The dang thing is losing about a half gallon of antifreeze in about 10 minutes. I am stumped. Does anyone have any ideas to look at before tearing it down to see if it needs to be sleeved? I appreciate any help and say thanks in advance.

If you truly have a 580K and not a 580CK it will have a Cummins engine and it has no sleeves. It does, however, have an engine oil cooler which could leak. You might want to check that.

I'm no expert, but probably O rings on the sleeves if that engines has wet sleeves. The old o rings on my 930's engine did not leak, but I replaced them and they were quite brittle and dry.
