I saw a spirit of 76 case on ebay that no one bought. I was curious as to how many of these were made and how do you prove that it is really a spirit model? I know with the ih gold demonstrators you can't prove it other than the year. Did case do a better job of keeping records?

All Spirits have serial numbers that start with 880. Regular 1570's start with somthing else. There where less than 400 made. I bought a Spirit on Valentines Day, [three weeks ago]. Haven't got it home yet from Rankin ILL.. Hope too have it home in two weeks or so. Bought it sight unseen, not even a pic.
I offerd 7000 for the one on ebay, after the first auction [it was on twice]. Days later he said he would take it, but I allready bought the other one. They will range from $7000 to $15,000

I collect Ih"s, I have no idea of the case market. Would this be a good tractor to collect? I think its sort of a neet tractor. I have never seen a real one. Would it be worth 7,000.00.

I take it that you are in Mass. I am in NH. Love to have you come up to my tractor show on July 16. If you can bring a tractor or more, that would be even better. There are a few people that come up from Mass, CT and RI.

The show is held at the Waterest Campground in Woodstock. The only scheduled events are a parade at 2 and a bluegrass concert at around 4. This is a very informal affair. This will be the 4th year my brother and I have put it on. Last year we had about 40 tractors plus a bunch of one lungers, old cars and trucks, implements, etc. We especially like to have working demonstrations. Check the link below for a friend's website. He kindly put this there for me. It gives a pretty good idea of what goes on.
