Let's be honest here, after all Case had to retreat to swinging draft arms also, with sway chains and blocks when non swinging arms were desirable. When you have a four or five ton tractor running along in a furrow and you live in an area with rocks, like I do, something had to give when your plow came in contact with a rock. that's why Case made their plows pivot and, or break away to minimize some of the damage. Also back in those days the 3 point hitches weren't all standardized as close as they are now and it was difficut to hook up to all makes of equipment. And never try to put swinging arms on your hitch without also making the lift arms pivot at the top. In most cases I liked the eagle hitch so overall it's not a liability. My two cents worth.

Some implements will hook right up and some won't. The problem is usually the spacing of the pins on the implement is too far apart and the arms won't spread out far enough. You can sometimes turn one or both of the implement pins to the inside to get it hooked up. I had to do this on a bush hog to get it hooked up. Once you get used to it, you will find that the Eagle Hitch is quicker to hookup and unhook than a conventional 3-point hitch.

Hey Bob: George is correct. The E-H is built around Cat 1 Standards, but it can also be used for CAT 2. Be sure to get the Original CASE Top Link. They are valuable.

Bob,

Once you try eagle hitch, you will never

want to go back to those silly swinging arms.
