I own a Ford NAA that I use with a snowblower (it works but it is somewhat of a chore). Considering a Case 470 but questions arise.
1- Is it more powerful and heavier than my NAA ?
2- Power-steering ?
3- Live PTO ?
4- Transmission (slow reverse is important) ?
5- Any comments would be appreciated

Hey Robert: No comparison of a 470 to a NAA. "YES" to questions 1 thru 4. The 470 is a very valuable & desireable tractor to have.

Thanks John,
It appears that the tractor is a Case 430 not a 470. Are your answers still the same.

Still the same. There are differences between the Early 430's & Late 430's, but both good tractors. Any idea of it's year & how it is equipped?

It is a Case 430. Don't have much info, 40 HP, 2 WD, 1963,gaz engine,triple-range 12 speed, good rubbers. Will have to go and see. Is powersteering standard on 430's ?

530 is 40HP, I think 430 is closer to 36HP.
530 is 159 cu. in. & 430 is 148 cu. in. gas engines. If diesel they both would be 188 cu. in. but HP would be adjusted same as above.

430 specs. in reply to Robert Paris, 03-06-2005 15:55:40
Robert, power steering was not standard equipment on the 430 ag series tractors. I believe that it is more common to find that feature on the later production machines, but early ones may or may not have it. The good news is that if you find a really good tractor at a good price but w/o power steering, you can always switch it out from a junker if you need to.
