Has any one rebuilt the balancer on a Case 870 motor. What bushings did you use.

If you have the course tooth gears (I think 86 on the crank gear) it is the same as the 830. Some of the 336's had a finer tooth count of about 134 teeth. I would try to find a balancer and replace it. I have heard stories of guys that have taken them out and had trouble with their feet vibrating to sleep. Good luck DK

Don't waste your time trying to fix it. When I was still in the shop we tried to ahve one rebushed by a machine shop. It lasted about 2 years and then came apart

Hey JHH: I haven't done it, but I've heard of guys eliminating the balancer & installing a Pump up front like the 6Cyl. engines. No problem with vibration.

Hey John we have changed several over to the front pump. As far as vibration they will all vibrate more than they do with the balancer in them. Some have been very bad others tolerable seems to change with the variation of rpms. Thad
