Are you talking about the dual fuel manifold with the lever on the outside? If so, didn't know Case was still making dual fuel manifolds in 1951. Yes, you can switch to a gas manifold. There are cast iron inserts in the head that have to be removed to use the gas manifold, but that's all that you have to change.

There should be some thin steel rings that are used to keep the manifold centered. They fit between the manifold and head. They are about 1/2-inch long and look like they were cut from a piece of exhaust pipe. There are indentations in the manifold casting for them to sit in. Other than a gasket, this is all you need.

Dennis, I assume you mean a dual fuel manifold . I can fix (replace ) the valve (baffle, damper, or whatever you would like to call it ). I have one here now that I am repairing ,manifold is in good condition but the damper and cover were well rusted .Cover broken and with holes but repairable, damper in pieces and rusted beyond repair. Cover is repaired and damper is almost done. Post an email and I'll send you some pictures.

george
