Hello Friends
Just inherited a '58 611B from my Dad, it was his chore tractor and it seems to have done a lot of chores. Need to replace the tach and speedo cables, all of the sheet metal, and why does this tractor have to idle at 300 rpm to shift gears without grinding? Also this Rube Goldberg hand and foot throttle is totaly worn out, are there replacement parts available somewhere? Any help would be appreciated, Harry

Hey Harry: If CASE gives you grief, I stock them Cables. I might even have a hand throttle.

Hi John Thanks for responding, please send me the prices for cables. Thanks again, Harry
p.s. my Case dealer thinks he is still a Farmall dealer.

Part numbers G13022 for the speedometer and G13023 for the tach cable should be available from you dealer. Or try part number A20260. Unless you are lucky I would guess the tach and speedometer themselves are bad. For sheet metal, a salvage yard is about your only hope. Sometime it will show up on ebay. What is wrong with the throttle?

As for the grinding gears, this is normal for a Case-o-Matic transmission. Do a search on this page for Case-o-Matic or COM, it has been discussed many times.

We have had a 611B for 29 years with and have had no trouble with it. Good tractors.

Hey Lincoln Thanks for responding to my pleas for help. You are certainly right about the 611B being good tractors, Dad figured this one had wore out about 6 of those green things. However the throttle linkage has lots of sloppy connections plus there may be a missing spring or two. The linkage to the carb has to be yanked to idle the engine in order to shift gears, any help is appreciated. Thanks Harry
