You can still get parts for your VA, but...

They are not cheap.

With the front wheels going in eight different directions at once, I figured it was time to replace the kingpin bushings on the front axel on my 1948 VA. Well, they are still available from the dealer, but at a little over $15.00 each, they sure ain't cheap. Still, it's worth $60.00+ to me to be able to point the tractor where I want it to go again. The other issue I need to address is the "clevis-style" tie rod ends, the wear on the pin and in the hole of the clevis and arm on the front spindle is another point of loosness.

I think I might try smoothing the pin out, brazing up the holes and drilling them back out to the new size of the pin. Any thoughts??

I've repaired worn holes where pins fit in sickle bar mowers by building the openings up with brass and re-drilling the hole. I don't see why it won't work for your applicaton.
