Ted,
I want to thank you for posting the web sight to the orphanage. It really opened my eyes to see the work that you have done over there. I see most of the buildings look fairly new well kept. It also surprised me on what the people are paid for working.
Copied from web site.
I) Approximately 85% of Cambodians are rural and agrarian. The Government is by far the largest non-agrarian employer. Soldiers, police, teachers and civil servants are paid from $16-30 per month. It takes from $50-150 (depending upon location) per month for a family to survive in Cambodia. Incomes for government employees must be supplemented. Some employees have second or even third jobs but more have developed innovative methods of income enhancement (graft). Police collect fines on the spot, teachers charge students for instruction, and civil servants collect "fees" for services rendered.

J) More than 80% of Cambodians live below the international standard for poverty. "Land grabs" by the rich and powerful coupled with drought (1998), flooding 1996-97), medical emergencies and economic depression have forced many rural Cambodians to sell land and left the vast majority destitute. (End)

It makes my wages seem high. It must take a great deal of money and love to operate such a big orphanage. From the pictures it looks like the childeren are having fun learning.

The pictures of the tractors were awsome

Looks like everyone is pitching in on the fun. Looks like a lot hours, labor, money, and trainig going on in one place. The working condition and safety of the place would be a haven for a OSHA inspector. Overall I am impressed, well done.

I never intened for this to go as far as it has. I to want to put this to rest. I want you and everyone else to know I apologize for bringing the children into this. I still have several opions concerning this issue but they are mine and will not be brought up on ytmag again. I will not even respond to this post I think I have already expressed how I feel about the after market parts being shipped into the USA. The other members on ytmag have also made there opions known on the subject and even some of me. Thats whats great about life is everyones got there own opion.
Ted I hope your orphanage does well off the profit of the parts. I hope others don't, I hope the people that buy them are satisfied with the product. I also hope others will understand when I push for the local salvage yards and the ones providing USA made parts. THE END
