I was wondering what the common fix was for a VAC throttle cable? mine is broken, and i can tell that a common choke cable will not work due to the cable having knotches where you can set it at certain speeds. right now i have only the foot petal to use. anybody?

I think you have the throttle cable on the left side of the dash for later VAC-14 & VAO-15. There are two styles, the one with the knob similar to a choke cable is old p/n VTA3288, newer p/n is A30457. I have part of this style on a VAC-13, but only have the mounting bracket left. I don't think Case stocks it any more but you might try a dealer. I was thinking of trying to find a pull choke type cable that has a nut for cinching down and holding the core at the desired engine rpm. We used to have that setup on salvage pumps on ships. Haven't done much in the way of hunting one down tho.

Greg:

I think you are missing some linkage parts. THe throttle has a rod that goes down to a bell crank, which pushes a rod on the right sode of the engine up to the governor. The governor operates a rod that runs across the front of the engine, which pushes/pulles a rod that runs the throttle plate on the carb. If you have the accellerator pedal working, all you have to find is the throttle lever and the rod and bell crank that runs to the point where the pedal and the throttle rod connect together.

I hope I made sense with that.

ok, mine doesnt have that upper lever. i have, starting at the carb, a rod to a lever that goes to the governor. then another that goes back down the right side to a lever under the gas tank behind the head. from there, i have a rod that goes to a crank below the dash, and one that goes to the foot pedal. the throttle control that is broken on mine goes from the left side of the dash to the lever thats under the tank. there is no provision for a lever like you have on the mid-right side. i"d perfer your setup to mine, but alas, i dont have it. maybe somebody has the whole dash assembly and rod that i could convert mine with?
