I went to an auction yesterday to watch a Farmall H sell and sitting next to it was a DC that looked pretty ruff.Front tires shot but aired up and one rear tire shreaded. It had an 18 inch V-belt pulley on it and I used this to determine that the engine was not stuck. When they finally came to the tractors, the owner dumped a little gas down a broken fuel line, connected an old battery cable and the old Case roared to life!My dad had a SC and a DC Case that he farmed with until 1962 when he and two other men bought my grandfathers implement dealership. The old Cases were either scrapped or sold, and I have alwayswanted to add a SC or DC case to my small IH collection. A 47B,48 C, and a 48 H. Anyway when the auctioneer said sold, he was pointing at me,then said,Sold to Mister Olson #196 for $485.00. This old tractor needs a gas cap,Where can I get one?Its pretty big compared to the IH ones I have.So I'll be asking the silly questions on here for a while.John.

I think I still have a couple of spare gas caps. If not I know there are a couple up at my folks place in the sandhills.

Hello John,

Sounds like you had fun at the auction! Can't help to much with your DC questions as I have an LA. Where was the auction? I live just south of Omaha.

Mike

It was just west of Grand Island. It was sort of a retirement auction. It looked like he was going to quit farming, but keep his cow/calf operation going.
