I am considering buying a Case 530 industrial tractor with front end loader

Could anyone comment on good points/ bad points?

When were they produced?

What parts interchange with which agricultural tractors?

I have Case flambeau series and a C and L tractors, and am gererally familiar with agricultural tractors, but have no experience with industrial tractors.

Thanks

Bob

Hi,
1960-1969, I have a 1961 540 (530 with gas engine) with model #31 loader and hoe. Mine is dry clutch Dual Range & shuttle. I call them Utility tractors. Parts from many Utility tractors will interchange. Excellent old work horses. 570 replaced the 530. Original hydraulic suction hose has a inner liner that can colapse & cause slowing. Power steering pump is not rebuildable or available. If the 4-speed shifter boot is missing, the trans and final drive will have water in them. Many people complain about poor brakes but they"ll work if done correctly. Much info in the archives too.
Best wishes, Dennis..... ..

hello,
I just saw that you have a 1960 "utility" 530 with a gas engine.
you wouldnt happen to have a digital camera would you? :^)
I think that is what i just bought. but I"m not sure. I purchased a 530 ck manual and it is close, but not right. there are NO plates for identification on my trctor either. i"m just looking for some info on the maintenance mostly- once i find the right one- until then I"ll just keep buying mauals hahaha
thanks a lot jim

Bob;The 530 series was produced in the 1960 s.Terrific machines for their size. The 188 engines were very good and were produced for years. There are lots of inter- changeable parts with the 530 ag. tractors aside from the shuttle.I haven"t seen an ag tractor w/ shuttle.Good luck.I know that you will get lots of good use from the 530 if it has had reasonable care.
